The Importance of Schools

Colleges, Universities, and Independent Schools are a critically important group for the promotion of sustainable agricultural and the preservation of Northeast Family Farms. The volume and types of products that institutional buyers use can go a long way toward the support of local farmers and their efforts to make fresh, healthy food available to students.

Our Commitment

Northeast Family Farms is committed to helping food service customers develop and supply sustainable dining programs that support local and regional food systems. Our products are purchased direct from small to medium sized family-run operations throughout the northeast. We pay a premium for all the meat, seafood, fruits, vegetables and cheeses we buy from our farm partners. While the extra amount they receive is not great, for many farmers this small bonus can make the difference between profit and loss.

Testimonials

“Everyone I talk with is psyched that the Phillips Andover Academy and Aramark are using Northeast Family Farms. Our students are coming to the realization that diet matters! It’s been a long educational campaign and I think the good guys are finally trumping the fast food mentality that prevailed for so many years! Keep up the good work!”
